Ribbon is Cut at New Office Building in Salina

(SALINA, KS) – Today the red ribbon was cut on a new 16,500 square foot office building owned by Bucher, Willis & Ratliff Corporation (BWR). The engineering, planning and architectural firm moved in to their new office building almost one year to the day of the ground breaking.

BWR opened its Salina office in 1957, and has grown from a two-person office to a 250-person corporation with seven offices in six states. Now headquartered in Kansas City, MO., the Salina office is the firm’s first dedicated office building.

“BWR is proud of its Salina roots and plans to continue growing our Central and Western Kansas presence. This office building is a testament to our steadfast commitment to this great community, “said Kenzil Lynn, Executive Vice President and Manager of the Salina office. “It is a first-class office building that integrates cutting-edge technology and beautifully designed interior spaces,” he stated.

BWR, who served as the architect and interior designer for the project, will seek LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for the new office building through the United States Green Building Council. Key features of the design include the use of rapidly renewable materials such as wheatboard casework, low-emitting paints, sealants and adhesives, energy efficient lighting design and native plant materials.

BWR is a multidiscipline firm offering comprehensive consulting services in engineering, planning and architecture. Over the past 50 years, BWR has expanded to include eight offices and more than 200 qualified professionals nationwide. Substantial annual growth and a long list of repeat clients with private and public sector projects are testimony to BWR’s integrity and expertise.
