BWR
Celebrating 50 Years in Business
(Kansas City, MO), -
March 14, 2007 marks the 50th anniversary of BWR Engineers,
Planners and Architects. Over the past 50 years, BWR has
expanded to include 10 offices and more than 250 professionals
nationwide. As part of the firm’s commitment to quality and
innovation, they have assisted hundreds of clients throughout
the United States in disciplines such as aviation services,
environmental services, architecture and community planning.
“This is an exciting time for
BWR. We celebrate our major accomplishments over the past 50
years, and see great potential for the next 50. We have a
stellar group of professionals with innovative and
groundbreaking solutions for our clients,” said Larry G. White,
President and CEO.
Bucher, Willis & Ratliff
Corporation (now BWR) was founded in Kansas City, MO, in 1957
by James D. Bucher and Shelby K. Willis initially to provide
transportation engineering services. As the firm grew, the
fields of environmental, architecture, planning and aviation
were added.
Much recent growth occurred in
2006, which included opening an office in Austin, Texas, and
merging with an engineering firm in Dallas. The merger added two
BWR offices to the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. In addition, the
Salina, KS, office moved into a BWR-designed dedicated office
building. Demonstrating a commitment to environmentally
sensitive design, the building incorporated many sustainable
elements necessary to achieve the U.S. Green Building Council’s
LEED certification, which the company is currently pursuing.
